“That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us…” John 17:21
“The heart that truly seeks this depth in Him will also seek such depths with His people. The evidence of His faith, His heart and His Life within is revealed by the longings for these things. Faith causes us to apprehend this truth, love necessitates it and hope sustains our pursuit of it. We seek Him because He first sought us. We love Him, because He first loved us. The seeking of Him, the pursuit of Him and the longing for the depths of His Being is the result of Him living in us” – Brian Troxel
“Praying people want all that God has in store for them. They are not satisfied with a low religious life; superficial, vague and indefinite”
Wisdom of the Ages
“Praying people want all that God has in store for them. They are not satisfied with a low religious life; superficial, vague and indefinite.
Praying people constantly strive for more. They are not after being saved from some sin, but being saved from all sin, both inward and outward.
They are not only after deliverance from sinning, but from sin itself, from its being, its power and its pollution. They are after holiness of heart and life.”
– E.M. Bounds
“The grace you’ve been given is not just the grace of forgiveness and acceptance; it’s also the grace of empowerment. So get up and follow…. So here’s how this works. God has promised to supply and empower; your joy is to follow him by faith where you live every day. You don’t wait for the provision before you move. God has not promised that you will see it beforehand. You don’t try to figure out what God is going to do next and how he will meet your needs; you move forward in the certainty that he is with you, for you, and in you”
Pray for our brothers and sisters in Nigeria! They are undergoing intense persecution and martyrdom. Remember those who are standing in the midst of genocide, rape and deprivation. Remember those who shine His Life at the peril of their own.
May the grace and the presence of God be their portion, may they know of His deliverance and Peace in the midst of the brutality of the ungodly. May His Love hold them and deliver them from fear knowing the heavenly prize which awaits all those who are faithful in such circumstances. May your comfort Lord fill them in the loss of family and friends, may their tears be felt by all those who call upon your name.
The Golden Rule of Prayer… That we would pray for them AS we would desire them to pray for us!
Life for Christians in Nigeria “Nearly all Christians in northeastern Nigeria have lost family members due to the violence perpetrated by the terrorist groups. Entire congregations have been displaced, and many pastors have been forced to leave the region. Being active in the church looks much different than it did 15 years ago. Today, it takes great courage and faith to openly worship and serve Christ. Thousands of Christians remain in camps designated for internally displaced people. With few schools able to operate because of the violence, families are concerned about their children’s education. Life is a constant struggle and, in some places, it’s even difficult to find food” Voice of the Martyrs
May the Lord knit us more deeply by His Spirit to His people all over the world!
