Praying people want all that God has in store for them

Wanting All of God

“I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day” 2 Timothy 1:3

“Praying people want all that God has in store for them. They are not satisfied with a low religious life; superficial, vague and indefinite.

Praying people constantly strive for more. They are not after being saved from some sin, but saved from all sin, both inward and outward.

They are not only after deliverance from sinning, but from sin itself, from its being, its power and its pollution. They are after holiness of heart and life.”

Trust the Shepherd

“For the true child of God there is no darkness where He does not intend to bring us to the greater light. There is no trial too great that the Great Shepherd will not watch over the soul of His Own. There is no sorrow His comfort cannot fill and no separation too great that He will not compensate with Himself. Let us face this coming year with the true knowledge of His sovereign Wisdom at work on our eternal benefit.” Brian Troxel

All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle

Wisdom of the Ages

cannot extinguish the light of a single candle”

“Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven”

Wisdom of the Ages – E.M. Bounds

“And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee…”

Wisdom of the Ages

“Those who know your name will trust in You,
for You, have never forsaken those who seek you”
Psalm 9:10

“Persistent prayer in the earnest, inward movement of the heart toward God. Isaiah lamented that no one stirred himself to take hold of God. There was much praying in Isaiah’s time, but it was indifferent and self-righteous.

There were no mighty moves of souls toward God. There was no array of sanctified energies bent on reaching God. There was no energy to draw the treasures of His grace from Him.

Forceless prayers have no power to overcome difficulties, get results, or gain complete victories. We must win God before we can win our plea.”
E.M. Bounds

“And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities”
Isaiah 64:7
