Wisdom of the Ages
Shiloh
“Where are my friends?
The landscape is dry and desolate.
They have stretched my shredded body
On this humiliating tree.
The hands that healed
And the feet that brought good news
They have pierced
With their fierce hatred.”
– Tim Shey (Excerpt from the Poem “Shiloh”)
“Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider”
Isaiah 52:13-15
Years ago I was hitchhiking in Utah and this young lady picked me up. I read her my poem “Shiloh” and she started to cry. She told me that “Shiloh” reminded her of Mel Gibson’s film THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST.
