A.W. Tozer – Desire
“The stiff and wooden quality about our religious lives is a result of our lack of holy desire. Complacency is a deadly foe of all spiritual growth. Acute desire must be present or there will be no manifestation of Christ to His people.”
– A.W. Tozer

Thank you for quoting this for us. It is, in fact, the truth. The complacency that Tozer mentions is spiritual complacency. Many people in both the pulpit and the pew are complacent toward the Christ who would live His life in and through them. Yet they are often passionate about other fleshly and worldly things, including religious activity. These have left their first love. They do not know that what is not of Christ in them is death.
I always look forward to these quotation posts. This is a good thing you do for us, and the Spirit of Christ uses them. Thank you!
